About the Study

In this study we will measure the levels of important metabolites in the blood and urine. These are small molecules produced by breaking down substances in the body.

We aim to compare the differences in the levels of metabolites between individuals with different conditions thought to be caused by infection or inflammation. The first groups we will look at include patients with (or who had) acute COVID-19 infection, long Covid, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

By doing this we hope we may be better able to understand these different conditions and will learn more about the processes that are causing different symptoms such as fatigue, muscle ache, breathlessness etc.

You may be eligible to take part if you:

- Are aged 18 or over and are able to understand and read English

- Received any positive test for COVID-19 infection and completely recovered within 6 weeks

- Received any positive test for COVID-19 infection and did not completely recover within 6 weeks (or are still having symptoms)

If you are interested in learning more, please see the Participant Information section or contact the study team directly who will be delighted to discuss it with you.
